Our Top 5 Herbs

As the weather turns glorious, and al fresco eating finally becomes enjoyable, why not wow your taste buds with these 5 delightful herbs. They are easy to grow and can be kept on a sunny windowsill or in your garden, bringing delightful smells and tastes into your home whist also providing a pollinator friendly environment for the mighty Bee!

Thyme

This gorgeous little flowering herb is loved both by us and the bees who adore the flowers that come out in bloom. Works beautifully sprinkled on a roasted butternut squash salad with goat’s cheese and honey (from the London Honey Company obvz).

Bay

A favourite with our Italian friends, this much-loved herb is a champion when it comes to giving flavour to soups, stews and ragu.  It works brilliantly as an indoor or outdoor plant, and is low maintenance with high reward so our kind of herb!

Oregano

This herb will add a flavour of the med into any dish. The fresh stuff tastes so different to the dried, and we love to use it to make marinated feta to then serve with flatbreads, hummus and olives for a yummy started of goodies whilst you enjoy a glass of vino.

Dill

One of my absolute favourites, the herb is used widely in Scandinavia as its aniseed bite works brilliantly with cured fish. These glorious green fronds add a lovely hit of green in a smoked salmon cream cheese bagel

Rosemary

Roast lambs BFF and a classic with a roast potatoes, this aromatic number is a firm favourite when it comes to the classic roast dinner.  It is also surprisingly good in a cocktail, a rosemary gin and tonic is a botanical treat perfect for a balmy summers evening.

Coriander

Love it or hate it, this herb packs a punch. Beautiful in curries or in a fresh and fragrant salsa verde, this herb will get those tastebuds tingling!
