Take 5 With: Matilda Goad

British summer time officially ended this week and it’s already hard not to mourn those balmy summer nights. We are always thinking of ways to make things a little bit brighter, calming and warm. A splash of green with a new houseplant, a vibrant planter or pot, candles or even a new egg cup for deliciously cosy dippy eggs and soldiers on a cold winters morning.

How excited we were when we heard that the creative consultant and designer Matilda Goad, was both a fan our app and our Mind, Body & Soil boxes. Matilda’s accessories, homeware and style bring an effortless sophistication and colour to a space and are exactly the sort of thing that we reckon will lift your home and mood this Autumn.

We got to ask Matilda why, in her view, plants are so important in interiors and how she utilises them in her home:

I love indoor plants particularly in the winter months when there is little greenery around. They really help to visually soften a room, I like to have a few different plants that I rotate around my home.

Tartan squiggle Jug – a bit of an all rounder this jug can not only be the vessel for a batch of elderflower and gin fizz, but also used as a vase for any bunch of flowers you come across. So timeless and cheering that Matilda calls it the ‘Joy Jug’

Woven Ceramic Lamp – We have never seen quite such a cosy lamp in all our lives. Such delicious textures and colours. We could all do with one of these in our living rooms this autumn!
